Frequently Asked Questions

1. What will my child learn?

We will host two distinct streams depending on the grade level. The junior program will be for youth in Grades 1-4. The senior program will be for those in Grades 5-8. You can review the themes page for more details.

2. What will happen once I have registered?

Once we have received your payment and registration, we will send confirmation details on your booking. Two weeks before the start of your camp session, we will send the outline of each days schedule and any logistics details via email. Please add the pr******@********ce.ca email id to your contacts list to ensure our emails do not go into the Spam folder.

3. Is this a virtual camp?

No, we are running this entire camp program in person.

4. Will I need to stay with my child?

We encourage children to participate at a comfort level suitable for them. As with typical camp programs, we only expect to interact with the campers. If there are any additional needs, please contact us – we will aim to find the best solution that works for you.

5. What happens if we miss a day?

We recognize that schedules’ may get hectic. We will provide recommendations on how to catch up for any missed session. Please inform facilitators of any potential disruptions as soon as possible.

6. Who is facilitating the camps?

Each camp session will be lead by our founder Dr. Bhairavi Shankar, a Planetary Scientist. She will be joined by STEM facilitators to ensure your child learns from experts in the field in a fun and engaging manner.

7. Do you have a refund policy?

A $50 admin fee will be retained if you want to withdraw within two-weeks of the scheduled series starting or if you change your mind after attending the first session. There are no refunds for missed classes. No refunds will be issued if a child is removed because of inappropriate behaviour.

8. Are there any necessary materials?

Once your registration is confirmed, and in the week prior to camp starting, we will inform you if any activity materials are required. If so, these materials will be common household items with minimal need of additional purchase. Campers in the senior camps are encouraged to bring their own digital devices (preferably laptop) for part of the camp. We will convey the specifics via email ahead of the camp.

9. Is there before/after care available?

Facilitators will be on site at 8:30am. Drop off is between 8:50 – 9am. Should you require before or after care, please email us. We will charge $25 extra per child for each segment (before or after care) outside of the main camp time.

10. Is lunch provided?

We will provide a pizza lunch on the last day of camp (Friday). Otherwise we encourage children to bring their own snack, lunch, and water container to camp each day that are allergy and nut-free.
