All About Space Fall STEAM Series – Launch (Session 1)

Join us starting September 6 2023 for multiple sessions of programs and activities around exciting space themes and STEAM topics! This first session is open to youth in Grades 1-8. Our topic will be around near-Earth asteroids as we celebrate the upcoming return of the OSIRIS REx mission that Canada is part of!

In general, sessions run every Wednesday from 4:30-6PM in person in the heart of Mississauga at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre. We will alternate programming between a Junior audience (Gr. 1-4), and Senior audience (Gr. 5-8). Sessions run from Sept 6 – Dec 20. Choose to attend either 1, 4, or all 8 sessions for your grade level. Exact location is shared to those who register.

For the Junior audiences, we will cover these topics (order may change): Our Sun, Star formation and evolution, Life in Space, Send a coded message, Design engineering projects on the Moon and beyond; an art focused session, and Mars exploration.

For the Senior audiences, we will cover these topics (order may change): Exoplanets, Designing structures on the Moon, Satellite design, Train like an Astronaut, Mission to Mars.
